Ingredients for Tuna Pie Recipe
Dough (Tuna Pie Recipe):
450 g A/P flour
150 ml warm water
100 ml warm milk
2,5 tsp dry yeast
80 g butter, melted
2 tbsp vegetable oil for frying
1 tsp salt
— This what we sculpture out of dough, on the picture, and now let’s go on to the inside of our tuna pie, the stuffing. This shall include tuna (replaceable with other fish but wisely) and a set of seasoned vegetables and spices, here we go:
Filling (stuffing) for Tuna Pie Recipe
4×120 g cans tuna in oil, drained and flaked
4 hard boiled eggs, cubed
3 onions, sliced
2 tomatoes, cubed
1/4 cup scallions, chopped
1tbsp sour cream or greek yogurt
Directions (Tuna Pie Recipe)
In a large bowl, mix flour and yeast. Add water, milk, butter, oil, egg and salt. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic. Cover with a towel. Let the dough double in size in a warm place.
Meanwhile, heat the oil on medium low heat. Fry onions until lightly golden brown.
In a medium bowl, mix fried onions, tomatoes, tuna, eggs, sour cream and scallions. Add salt and pepper, mix well.
Preheat the oven to 200ºC.
Divide the dough into two parts, roll out two rectangles. Transfer the first one to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Arrange the filling on top. Cover with a remaining rectangle. Seal the edges. Brush the pie with egg or milk, or both.
Bake for 30-35 min or until golden brown.
