Orange Marmalade

1 kg oranges
1 kg sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1.5 tsp lemon juice

Cut oranges into quarters, discard any seeds and cut each quarter into very thin slices.
In a large pot, add sliced oranges and enough water to cover the oranges almost completely.
Bring to a boil (do not cover the pot), cook over medium heat for 20 minutes. Add sugar, salt and stir. Simmer for 30 minutes uncovered, stirring often so that it does not burn.

Add lemon juice and cook for another 10-15 minutes until thickened, stirring frequently.
Cool and serve.
