800 g beef, diced
3 tbsp flour
oil for frying
4 onions, sliced
1 tbsp tomato purée
1/3 cup red wine
1-2 gloves garlic
1 cup water
Sprinkle meat with flour. Heat 2 tbsp of oil and cook beef in batches until golden brown on all sides. Set meat aside.
In the same skillet, sauté onion until it has softened.
Combine beef, onion, wine, tomato purée, garlic, spices and salt. Mix well. Add water. Bring to a boil. Turn the heat down.
Cover and cook for 2-3 hr or until beef is tender.
